Monday movement exploration, a dialogue with critical somatics
A gentle class in meditative improvisation—offering the time to reconnect with yourself and your body.
This practice combines conscious movement, principles of Critical Somatics, and nervous system regulation, with the aim of supporting the mind–body connection.
We work with sensitivity toward the body, conscious breathing, and exploratory movement, allowing the nervous system to recover from tension, overstimulation, or habitual patterns of chronic contraction.
The practice emphasizes self-awareness, movement awareness, and embodied exploration within a safe framework, offering participants a chance to explore freely their movement.
We will move for:
- motor and movement awareness
- relief from persistent tension or discomfort
- development of somatic and mental self-regulation
- recognition and release of compressed or restricted movement patterns.
Our tools:
- Gentle, guided movement exploration
- body awareness
- proprioception and nervous system regulation practices
- integration of Critical Somatics principles through an open, exploratory environment.
The Ashtanga primary series
The Ashtanga Primary Series is called Yoga Chikitsa, meaning yoga therapy, because of the cleansing and toning effect it has on both body and mind. On a physical level the asanas (poses) of the Primary Series build strength and flexibility in the body, loosening tight muscles and realigning and detoxifying the body and nervous system. The series begins with forward bends, then twists and hip openers with a vinyasa between each asana.
Asanas are not the goal. They are a vehicle to access a deeper internal awareness
