Rewild Somatics

Revisit your body

Duration: 1h

Type: Private

Cost: 30€

Revisit Your Body is a movement and awareness-based class grounded in Body-Mind Centering® principles, conscious movement, and experiential anatomy.

Through guided movement and sensory exploration we cultivate body awareness and invite a process of (re)connecting with the body it’s systems, its intelligence, and the meanings it carries. The practice supports a gradual re-inhabiting of the body, fostering well-being through movement, presence, and attention.

Drawing tools from Body-Mind Centering®, the class explores anatomy as a lived, embodied experience rather than abstract knowledge. Movement becomes a way to listen to the body, to sense internal landscapes, and to engage with embodiment as a dynamic and relational process.

At the same time, the practice is informed by critical somatics. Somatic work here is not approached as therapy or as a technique for “fixing” the body, but as a re-signification of the body and our relationship to it.

From a critical somatics perspective the body is not neutral,

it is shaped by social, cultural, political, and historical forces. Our movement patterns, sensations, and perceptions are influenced by norms, power relations, and lived experiences. This class creates space to gently question these inscriptions, allowing the body to be sensed not only as biological matter, but as a site of memory. Also suitable for people who feel they have lost connection with their body due to a health condition or other reason.

Here, gently and gradually, we will approach the body, explore its systems through mindful movement and experiential anatomy, and attempt to get to know it again—learning to move within it as comfortably and safely as possible.

Revisit Your Body is an invitation to slow down, to sense, to move with curiosity, and to re-encounter the body as a living, thinking, feeling process.

The Ashtanga primary series

The Ashtanga Primary Series is called Yoga Chikitsa, meaning yoga therapy, because of the cleansing and toning effect it has on both body and mind. On a physical level the asanas (poses) of the Primary Series build strength and flexibility in the body, loosening tight muscles and realigning and detoxifying the body and nervous system. The series begins with forward bends, then twists and hip openers with a vinyasa between each asana.

Asanas are not the goal. They are a vehicle to access a deeper internal awareness
